Dear colleagues,
We invite you to participate in WSPCC 2011 ? Third International Field Symposium
?WEST SIBERIAN PEATLANDS AND CARBON CYCLE: PAST AND PRESENT?
The objectives of the Symposium is to exchange knowledge in the fields of peat accumulation and paludification, protection of the biodiversity and of biospheric functions of mires, ecological monitoring of peatland ecosystems, the role of peatlands in the global carbon cycle, and evaluation of the anthropogenic activities related to the exploration and exploitation of natural gas and oil on the functioning of peatland ecosystems and furthermore on the introduction of the contemporary technologies of the wise use of natural resources.
Basic scientific directions of the Symposium:
- Paleo-ecology
- Actual ecology and biodiversity
- Primary production and peat accumulation
- Greenhouse gas emission and Carbon cycling
- Climate change and permafrost
- Eco-hydrological modeling
- Anthropogenic impact and restoration
For the participation in the field Symposium and the Excursions
it is necessary:
Before January 31, 2011.

2. Submit your abstracts of oral paper or poster, according to the requirements of the conference abstract book.

Working languages of the symposium are Russian and English.
The forms of the reports
Within the framework of the Symposium plenary, sectional and poster reports are planned.
Basic dates:
Until January 31, 2011: Submission of Forms for participation in the Symposium and Titles of reports for compiling the Program of Symposium.
Until March 30, 2011: Submission of Abstracts (maximum 4 pages) for including in the symposium book.
Publication of abstracts and papers
The abstracts of papers and posters will be published after the registration and payment of the Symposium fee. A Symposium book will be prepared before the beginning of the Symposium and hand over to the participants at arrival.
Authors of papers, selected by Program committee, will be invited for full paper publication in the Journal "Environmental Dynamics and Climate Change" (EDCC) after the Symposium. Requirements for the formulation of the texts of reports will be brought to information of the authors additionally.

For foreign participants:

For participants from Russia and CIS countries:

Participants who for valid reasons are unable to pay fee before the Symposium may request by e-mail for cash payment at the beginning of the Symposium to Symposium Organizing Committee.
Registration fee includes the coffee-breaks, the 2-days excursion during the Symposium, Symposium diner, and publication of Symposium materials (abstract book).
Fees do not include accommodation costs and meals (except for the Symposium diner).
