On 27 September the whole world celebrated the World Tourism Day. Our university organised some events for the students and staff
The tradition of celebrating the
World Tourism Day dates back to 1980, when UN chose 27 September to be the date. Since then, evety year a city is chosen in one of the 6 UNWTO regions to host the main events devotes to the holiday.
This year Yugra state university celebrates with the whole world with the following:
- 22-27 September: a photo exhibition
"Recreation-2014"
- 24 September, 10.00: the scientific and practical conference
"Baikal, the pearl of Russia". It summarises the experience of our group of students who went to the world-famous lake this summer.
The students of our university went on a research expedition to the lake Baikal and then at the conference shared their experience and views on different acpects of their travel: vegetation, mineral resources and geography of that regon, pecularities of tourism and ecological conditions.

excursion for the freshmen around Khanty-Mansiysk on 26 September.
The excursion started at 9 a.m. from the administration building of the university. The students learnt the history of Yermak's exploration of Siberia and local battles for the place which is now one of the parts of Khanty-Mansiysk. They visited the institutions' buildings and the major sights of the city, including the famous
Archeopark. The event is marked at the celebrations map on the
UNWTO site.
All the participants were really impressed with the long history and touristic potential of our city.
