YUSU DORMS ARE AMONG THE BEST COUNTRYWIDE
Dormitory building 6 of the residential compound "Student Residence Hall" was voted to be one of the best all over Russia in 2017 as results came after the All-Russian Best Student Dorm Review Contest Final held by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation together with the Russian Academic Community Labor Union.

The university's delegation made up of the Residence Hall head Irina Titova, head of Office for Extra-curricular activities Galina Fedosova, members of Student Dormitory Council Vilena Vasilkovskaya and Vadim Azeev took proud 3-rd place after passing all the final tests with dignity at Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University.

The contest meant to participate in a set of various assignments, with some tasks had to be prepared in advance, like "Student Dorm Presentation" showing social and living facilities and infrastructure of the housing as well as recreational and sport activities; presentation of agenda for student dorm; poster presentation of the ‘Student Residence Hall’ regulations.

The experts of the contest:
- Vladimir Marchenko, chair of the All-Russian Education Labor Union, acting vice-rector for extra-curricular affairs and students initiatives at Lomonosov Moscow State University;
- Maksim Vedyashkin, pro-rector for general affairs at National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (the Contest winner of 2016);
- Aleksander Kozlov, officer at the Department of State Policy for Child and Youth Care, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation;
- Dmitry Filippov, director of National University of Science and Technology MISIS (the Contest winner of 2015);
- Sergey Sheremet, officer at the Department for Support of Youth Initiatives and Implementation of Programs in the Sphere of State Youth Policy of the Committee for Youth Policy in the Sphere of Education of Children and Youth in St. Petersburg.

The university delegation also participated in educational modules: "Legislative Aspects of Activity in Dormitories", "Organization of Office Work of Dormitories' Student Self-Governance", "Housing Payment Calculation in Dormitories". A pleasant compliment to the training program and contest assignments was the cultural program and bus tours around the city of Saint-Petersburg organized for the participants.
