SALYM PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT FUNDS THREE YUSU PROJECTS
Up to now nearly 200 students, faculty and staff of the university have completed "First aid treatment" courses. The training courses are instructed by paramedics and professional rescuers of the "Yugra Social Innovations" Training Center, with Salym Petroleum Development N.V. funding the project in the amount of 900, 000 rubles.

Every day a small group of trainees meets in classroom to obtain within the next 2 days theoretical and practical skills on how to give first emergency aid. Then an instructor simulates the situation to let the students hone their skills with each other, acting as injured and rescuers.

- Today we have come to know about brain and limb injuries, emergency treatment for burns and electric traumas, lifeguarding, - said Anna Brovina, the YUSU staff member. - Tomorrow we will be trained how to pull the injured out from the car after accidents and pass the test. I consider these courses to be crucial for me since I drive a car myself and have eyewitnessed a number of accidents, so now I know how to act and I hope to be capable of helping people in case of emergency. Everyone needs first aid skills in everyday life to relieve pain after burns, what improvised means to use before the ambulance arrives.

It bears reminding that according to the Supplementary Agreement №4 to the Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra of June 7, 2013 the oil company sponsors social projects and programs in education sector in the amount of 5 173 940 mln. roubles in 2017.
