On September 1, at 9-30 a.m. YUSU's freshmen are scheduled to see each other for the first time on the Socrates and Plato's Square in front of the university. Senior students, tutors from among students and activities organizers plan to meet the newcomers. Cheerful mimes will hold funny dance contests and check up the readiness of recent school students to start their university life, with the most active ones to be awarded with university branded giveaways.

The celebratory assembly will start at 10-30 during which the rector of Yugra State University Tatiana Karminskaya together with distinguished guests will welcome the young audience.

Traditionally, the freshmen will sing and memorize a few lines of the YUSU's anthem as well as they will shout out words "Darkness will disappear, let there be light! Glory to Yugra State University!".

According to the organizers of the event, the assembly will be a spectacular show - the university square will become a stage for a number of dancing groups and debut songs singing performed by the most talented students.

Also, rowan seedlings will be planted in the Alley of Knowledge nearby.

The institutes will begin working at 11-15 a.m. where freshmen will meet their teachers, student  councils' representatives and receive student ID cards along with all good wishes from institutes' directors.
