YUSU STUDENT RANKS TOP 10 AT THE TAIPEI 2017 SUMMER UNIVERSIADE
Yugra State University student Kristina Vershinina is ranked 9th at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan.

On August 20, Kristina performed in the 400 meter individual medley, finishing 12th with a time of 4:48.68. Two days later, she clocked 2:15.16 in the 200 m medley heat to become 5th on the list and qualified for semi-finals, where the athlete registered 2:14.90 and the 9th position in the final standings.

Kristina Vershinina is a recognized world-class athlete, 2015 and 2016 Russia's swimming champion, 2016 Russian Cup winner, 2011 and 2014 Russian Championships Silver and Bronze medallist, as well as 2011, 2012, 2014, 2016 Russian Cup repeat Silver and Bronze medalist, and Ugra's reigning record holder.

She is a first-year student, majoring in Physical Education. Her coach is Sergey Lyakhov.
