Yugra State University has been successfully running its research and educational center aimed to provide training in lean production. The Advanced Lean Production Technologies Center has been established throughout the "Lean Region" concept implementation plan in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Ugra.

Yulia Rod, Director of the Institute of Management and Economics at Yugra State University, the member of the Chief Designers Council for Lean Technology in Ugra reported at the Public Council for 2030 Social and Economic Development Strategy of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Ugra under the Governor of Ugra on the entire process of the "Lean Region" implementation plan. 

"In 2017 the roadmap provided for 25 events within the "Lean Region" implementation plan. The events were completely held," Yulia Rod told.

Speaking of the introduction of lean technologies into the education system, the director along with three university-based research and educational centers in Ugra mentioned pilot schools founded in 11 regional municipalities to give thematic lessons on lean production.

In 2017, we organized three lean-tech student projects contests. For instance, YUSU hosted a contest called "Student Kaizen". As of January 1, 2018 there are 350 public officials trained in Yugra. Five round tables, a master class, a foresight session, as well as a regional applied research conference on lean technologies were held. In 2018 the work is in progress; the second stage of lean technologies training for public officials, including e-learning, will be held, with 8 branch research and educational centers to be selected.
