The V. I. Shpilman Research and Analytical Center for the Rational Subsoil Use has reposited a two-volumer "Oil and Gas Fields Atlas of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra" in the YUSU-based Scientific Library. This unique edition features brief descriptions of 464 oil and gas fields discovered in Yugra over the 60-years-long period of exploration and commercial development of hydrocarbon deposits.

The printed issue holds data on each field location as per its administrative, tectonic and oil geological zoning, discovery date and well, discovered pay zones, as well as data on organizations that prepared promising deposits for exploration, and who discovered and prepared a deposit for development, with subsoil users and a deposit status as of the Atlas publication date. Also, the edition carries brief information on the tectonic structure of deformational traps, the geological section, hydrocarbon plays, and the pay zones indexing.

The tectonic basis for the Atlas is the "Tectonic Map of the West Siberian Central Regions", edited by profound Russian geoscientists V. I. Shpilman, N. I. Zmanovsky, L. L. Podsosova dated 1998. The oil geological zoning in the book is based on the "Oil Field Geological Zoning Plan for West Siberian Oil and Gas Province" edited by I. I. Nesterov Jr., A. V. Shpilman, Y. E. Faibusovich, O. I. Suprunenko, V. S. Staroseltseva, 2010. The deposits stratigraphic affiliation was designed as per the regional stratigraphic plans of the Jurassic-Cretaceous deposits dated 1991 and 2004.

Obviously, the atlas will be of great use for the university curriculum alongside the scientific research of graduate, post-graduate students, and university professors.

The edition is available at the University Library reading rooms: Monday through Friday, 9 am to 6 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm.
