Tatyana Karminskaya, Rector of Yugra State University, is elected Chair of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities

On November 30 at the meeting of the Council of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities (AFUU), Yugra State University assumed the chairmanship of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities from Petrozavodsk State University.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Mordovia, Mari, Udmurt, Yugra, Syktyvkar State Universities and Glazov State Pedagogical Institute named after V.G. Korolenko.

The participants discussed a wide range of issues, most important of which was the report on the activity of AFUU in 2016-2018. Another key issue was the election of the Chair of the Association Council for 2018-2020.

Anatoly Voronin, Rector of Petrozavodsk State University, has been headed the Association for 3 years. According to the results of the elections for the next 3 years, Rector Tatyana Karminskaya became the Chair of the Council of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities. According to the agreement on joint activities, the Chair of the Association Council is appointed by a decision of the Association Council for a period of 3 years.

The Association of Finno-Ugric Universities - an organization uniting universities of the countries and regions where Finno-Ugric peoples live, and also showing interest in Finno-Ugric issues.

The purpose of the Association is the exchange of experience, coordination and organization of joint work of universities in the field of improving educational and methodical, research, cultural, educational and social activities.
