Mathematicians from eight countries shared their knowledge and experience at an international seminar in Yugra State University.

International Russian-French seminar "Differential Equations and Mathematical Modeling" was held at YuSU.

The seminar brought together experts from various mathematical schools and areas from eight countries: France, Spain, Germany, Bolgaria, Serbia, Uzbekistan and Finland. Russia was represented by participants from Khanty-Mansiysk, Khabarovsk, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk and Ufa.

55 participants presented their reports in three sections: “Mathematical Modeling”, “Non-Classical Differential Equations”, “Inverse Problems for Equations of Mathematical Physics”.

- One of the main objectives of the seminar is the exchange of experience. We were able to bring together a wide range of specialists in various fields of knowledge. There are very good tasks that we can solve together. The conference will serve as the beginning of some joint projects, - Sergey Pyatkov, Chairman of Organizing Committee and Professor of Yugra State University said.

Tatyana Karminskaya, Rector of Yugra State University acted as Chairman of program committee:

– I am glad that our University has become a venue for this seminar. I hope that this event will be the beginning of a dialogue on joint scientific and educational projects.

At the seminar, our University was represented not only by faculty members, but also by students.

- I was honored to speak at an international seminar and to see firsthand some of the leading mathematicians in the world, members of the Academy of Sciences, authors of many articles, monographs and textbooks, and representatives of French and Novosibirsk mathematical schools. It was interesting to get acquainted with colleagues from Chelyabinsk and Novosibirsk, to discuss tasks and problems and to receive a lecture from mentors, - Valery Rotko, YuSU graduate student said.

– The conference was a success. Contacts between Russian and foreign participants have been established. Some scientific projects are planned, and a similar seminar is planned to be organized in France. The results of the conference will be issued in the form of articles. We have an arrangement with various magazines. The results will also be a collection of abstracts. We plan to place it in RSCI - Sergey Pyatkov, Chairman of Organizing Committee and Professor of Yugra State University summed up.

International seminar included a cultural program. The guests had a sightseeing tour of the capital of Yugra, after which the seminar participants visited Open-air museum “Torum Maa”, where they were able to get acquainted with the life of Khanty and Mansi indigenous peoples.

The seminar was organized by Yugra State University with the support of Yugra Research Institute of Information Technologies, Institute of Mathematics named SB RAS (Novosibirsk) and Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
