One more UNESCO Chair will be opened at Yugra State University

On the 29th of November a meeting of the Coordinating Committee of UNESCO Chairs of the Russian Federation took place at the Historical and Cultural Complex “Vyatskoye”.

Tatyana Dyatlova, Head of Finno-Ugric Studies at Yugra State University, Curator of Northern Peoples Center, presented the project of a UNESCO Chair “Indigenous peoples of Yugra in the context of globalization” to the Committee members.

The project was approved by the Coordinating Committee of UNESCO Chairs of the Russian Federation.

The direction of a prospective UNESCO Chair “Indigenous Peoples of Yugra in the context of globalization” activity is directly related to the priorities of UNESCO and the Millennium Development Goals, including the contribution of the project to national and regional development - education, social and human sciences, culture, communication and information,”- Tatyana Dyatlova commented.
