A new direction of training in oil and gas field development has appeared at YuSU

This year YuSU started the “Oil and Gas Machinery and Technologies” training direction with the training profile “Development of Oil and Gas Fields”.

In the course of training, students get acquainted with the technology of oil and gas production, peculiarities of collection and preparation of well products. Future specialists study the principle of operation of drilling, oil and gas field equipment, technology of construction, repair and operation of pipeline transportation.

The specialty “Oil and Gas Machinery and Technologies” is one of the most demanded not only in Russia, but also in the world. As a result of education, a graduate of the program “Oil and Gas Machinery and Technologies” is a multidisciplinary, versatile, erudite, highly qualified specialist, in demand in the labor market”, - says the head of the Higher Oil School of YuSU Maxim Korolev.

Knowledge mastering is conducted with the use of advanced computer technologies, with the use of stands that allow to simulate a real production situation. The received material is reinforced by practice on virtual reality simulators.

Key disciplines that students will study: “Development and exploitation of oil and gas fields”, 'Drilling of oil and gas wells', 'Oil and gas field geology', 'Geophysical well research', 'Machinery and technologies of oil recovery enhancement methods', 'Overhaul and maintenance of the well'.

Graduates of the specialty “Oil and Gas Machinery and Technologies” occupy managerial positions in the oil and gas industry. They can work as engineers of production and technical department, on technological support of oil and gas field operation, drilling, reconstruction and overhaul of oil and gas industry facilities, oil pipeline defectoscopist, specialist in providing and controlling the technology of oil, gas and gas condensate production, head of geo-navigational support of oil and gas well drilling.

We would like to add that applicants will have to pass exams in mathematics (profile), Russian language and physics/informatics in order to enter the program.
