From April 18 to 19, the final of the All-Russian Student Olympiad "I am a Professional" in the field of "Sport and Physical Culture. Sports Coach" was held at the Russian University of Sport "GTSOLIFK" in Moscow.
Yulia Korneva, a third-year student of the Higher School of Physical Culture and Sports (HSPCS), became one of 57 participants from across the country who successfully advanced to the final, thanks to the high level of knowledge and professionalism demonstrated during the online stages. Based on the results of the competition, Yulia was awarded the title of winner of the "I am a Professional" Olympiad.
"In the final, it was necessary to demonstrate professional skills. This was a practical stage: conducting the main part of a training session. The challenge was that until the very beginning, I did not know which specific task I would have to solve. I was given the task of 'Conducting a training session in a martial arts style.' Overall, it turned out not to be as difficult as it might have seemed at first. Especially since during the preparation phase, we had worked through key aspects of any training session. During the preparatory stage, I practiced listening to music – this is the most challenging part for me. I am glad that I gained such experience and received the winner's status, which provides benefits for admission to master's programs at leading Russian universities, as well as the opportunity for an internship at major Russian companies.
