MTS and YuSU will create an IT laboratory for the development of wireless communication technologies

KhMAO, Russia – MTS PJSC (NYSE: MBT, MOEX: MTSS), a leading Russian company providing digital, media and telecommunications services, and Yugra State University signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation. As part of the partnership, MTS plans to create an IT laboratory for the development of wireless communication technologies, and will also offer an expanded internship program for students of technical specialties.

One of the main areas of cooperation is the creation of an IT laboratory for the development of wireless communication technologies, where students and postgraduates of technical specialties, using the example of a base station and other practical materials, will study the device of a radio relay network, the features of LTE and 5G ready standard networks. This will help future IT specialists to develop their own innovative solutions for subsequent use at Yugra enterprises.

Thanks to the agreement, the most successful students will be able to complete an internship at MTS — training with practicing experts will help the students to decide on their specialization and adapt to the real conditions of work in the IT industry. Young specialists will learn how to work with large city-forming companies on the introduction of digital solutions, including import substitution products in Yugra. Cooperation with the higher school will allow MTS to interact more effectively with YuSU in creating means of social mobility and building career paths for graduates, their guaranteed employment.
