Student of YuSU brought Russia the first gold in team sports after many years!
Russia women’s national water polo team made history in Malta. Under the national flag and the anthem our girls won the World Cup in the second division.
In the final, the Russian women’s team met with the Chinese team. The main time ended with the score 17:17. Four seconds to the siren student of YuSU Darya Savchenko made an incredible shot from a decent distance (actually from the center of the field!) — the ball reached the goal. Match score: 18:17 in favor of Russia.
With this gold our girls didn’t just take the trophy. They secured participation in the Super Final of the World Cup in Sydney (22-26 of July).
