In his welcoming speech Valerii Lapshin, Vice-Rector for Research and Legal Affairs of YuSU, noted that the issues of national identity of indigenous peoples, manifested in law, culture and economy, require serious attention and scientific approach.
The conference was organized by the Higher School of Law and Higher School of Humanities of YuSU. This year, participants were invited to work in five sections, where presentations were made by both university faculty and students. This created an opportunity for open dialog, which is essential to preserving a shared human heritage.
“The conference was an important step towards protecting the rights and interests of the indigenous minorities of the North. The participants discussed not only theoretical aspects, but also practical solutions that will find their application in various spheres of life and activities of indigenous peoples of the North.
