A collection of the best regional and university practices for supporting young student families has been published. YuSU appeared in the leaders among the universities of the okrug in terms of support measures. The university provides comprehensive support to the families of students. Thus, young families are provided with:
Material support: one-time assistance (payment), periodic material payments
Infrastructural support: provision of housing, a place in the dormitory, mother and child room, short-term stay of children.
Informational support: legal assistance, employment assistance, psychological assistance.
“Students can count on material assistance at the registration of marriage, the birth of a child. Also compensated are the costs of inventory that is necessary for the upbringing of a child, for example, the purchase of a stroller, a bed, a bathtub for bathing and other”, - said the head of the Department of Student Support of YuSU Ksenia Posokhova.
Applications for financial aid should be submitted by the 30th day. If there is a need to switch to an individual plan or free attendance, to get advice, students can apply to the “Single Window” in 4 corp., 112 office, emphasized Kseniya Igorevna.
Also at YuSU additional projects are planned for implementation, for example, the co-working center “Family Oasis: Creating Together”. The project is aimed at creating a space for families with children, where they can spend time together, participate in educational and recreational activities, develop skills and receive support from the community. This space will include a children's zone, which will make the place welcoming to families with children, it will be possible to hold activities in parallel for parents and their children. “That is why in the conditions of modern society, where many families face problems of stress, lack of time and lack of support, this project becomes especially relevant,” the authors say.
