YuSU postgraduate student became a finalist of the International Open Dialogue “The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth

Sergey Guriev, a first-year postgraduate student in the direction 5.2.3 Regional and Sectoral Economics, passed the rigorous selection of the Open Dialogue essay contest “The Future of the World: a New Platform for Global Growth”. The large-scale international project dedicated to the prospects of the world economy was held at the National Center “Russia”. In total, the contest received more than 700 works from 102 countries. The participants of the event discussed many issues of development of society, technology, intelligence, and worked out unified approaches to ensure the growth of the world economy.

The work of YuSU graduate student was included in the top 100. Thus Sergei Guriev got the right to present his essay in person. The postgraduate student of YuSU spoke in English. Sergey Guriev devoted his scientific work to new technologies in the work on the implementation of RIM (resource-index method) to determine the estimated cost of construction.

“He expressed the opinion that Russia's experience in this matter can be applied in the BRICS countries. Now aspects of transition to RIM, accuracy of accounting for all factors affecting the cost of construction are especially relevant in conditions of limited resources, transportation accessibility and specific climate of a number of locations. The solution of these issues is important to ensure sustainable development of regions and improve the efficiency of construction project management,” said Sergei Guriev.

A New Platform for Global Growth” is to develop a number of initiatives and recommendations aimed at ensuring stable economic growth in the context of modern challenges and changes. The experts' conclusions and recommendations will form the basis for subsequent activities and strategies aimed at the development of the world economy.
