The IV Northern Forum on Sustainable Development is functioning in Yakutsk. YuSU Rector Roman Kuchin joined the delegation of Yugra, which was headed by Governor Natalia Komarova.
The Northern Forum is an international expert platform for discussing problems and prospects of sustainable development of the North and the Arctic. Representatives of more than 10 countries took part in the event. A rich four-day program - educational intensives, lectures, discussions, teamwork - began with the plenary session "Energy for the Arctic: New Challenges - New Solutions and Technologies".
As a result of the plenary session, an agreement was signed on the foundation of the Russian-Asian Consortium for Arctic Research, which included 16 participants - representatives of educational institutions, including Yugra State University. This consortium is an association of scientific, educational, research, vocational and other institutions in Russia and Asian countries.
"YuSU has reached a new level of international cooperation. Having a great scientific and research potential, the university is ready to join the active work on the formation of a generation of highly qualified specialists, providing the region with professionals in accordance with the ESG agenda. By combining joint efforts in the study and understanding of the Arctic, we will definitely achieve significant results in our common cause to ensure the conditions for the development of the Arctic region," Roman Kuchin said.
