Students saw off the winter with songs, round dances and sport competitions and met spring. Last Saturday, the festival of Maslenitsa took place on the campus of Yugra State University.
The program included - contests, sport competitions, round dances and songs. Everyone could try delicious pancakes and warm up with hot tea.
«This event gathered and united many students of Yugra State University from different higher schools. Organizers and their assistants made a great effort to make the festivities fun and interesting: presenters were in national costumes, which attracted attention, skillfully lured people to participate in various competitions, and also fed everyone with delicious pancakes. The event brought a lot of positive emotions and impressions», - said Darya Volegova, 2-nd year student of the Higher School of Digital Economics of Yugra University.
A traditional garage sales was also organized as part of the event. This year it was held in format of freesicling – an exchange of clothes for a small price.
As the organizers noticed, all proceeds will be used to create a chill-zone in campus.
«Maslenitsa is one of my favorite holidays. In my hometown, my family baked pancakes and went to folk festivals every year. I’m very happy, that our university celebrates it too. Most of all, I enjoyed the zone, where fortune-telling took place and pancakes were distributed. It was very delicious and fun», - said Rinata Sitnikova, a 2-nd year student of the Higher School of Humanities of Yugra University.
The culmination of the holiday became a huge round dance around Maslenitsa and the enchanting burning of an effigy.
It should be noted that the organizer of the event is the Youth community of Yugra State University.
