National community of African students appeared in Yugra
Students and staff of Yugra State University took part in the International Interuniversity Forum "Russia - Africa: vectors of youth cooperation", which was held from 7 to 9 November in a hybrid format in Russia (Kursk), Algeria and Tanzania.

About 700 representatives from 14 countries attended the event. The speeches of the participants were translated simultaneously in Russian, English, and Arabic.

The forum started with welcome speeches from representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for CIS, Compatriots Living Abroad and International Humanitarian Cooperation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Algeria, the Russian House in Tanzania.

The topics of speeches and discussions focused on the role of Youth in the development of the modern world, internationalization of education, advanced research and development, as well as on opportunities for international youth research cooperation. Advanced projects with the potential of joint implementation by Russian and African universities were presented at the event, as well as presentations of Russian universities.

Students of YuSU Nkumbu Silungwe and Mervis Marriam Phiri made a presentation "National community of African students in Yugra". They told about the unique youth community of African students who live and study in the north of Russia. Besides, they informed about educational, accommodation and extracurricular opportunities, provided by the University, they also recommended future African applicants not to be afraid of cold weather and to join their friendly Yugra community.

Oksana Gololobova, Head of the International Cooperation Center of YuSU, presented the educational potential and infrastructure of the University to the African participants, and told them more about Yugra and its unique natural and cultural heritage.
