Panel discussion on measuring carbon and greenhouse gas emissions will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk

On October 1, 2021, a panel discussion on the topic "A new environmental agenda in the climate change context: carbon testing grounds as a growth point for the high-tech industry in Yugra" will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk .

The event will be organized in the framework of the 20th anniversary of Yugra State University, with the participation of federal and state authorities, Russian and international scientific community, financial organizations, oil and gas and energy companies.

A special place in the discussion will be devoted to Yugra's participation in the experiment to establish special regulation of greenhouse gas emissions and absorption and the pilot project of Sberbank PJSC to create a pilot version of the system for greenhouse gas emissions and absorption accounting . Representatives of oil, gas and energy companies will share their experience in organizing activities in this field.

During the event, experts will discuss the initiative of Yugra State University, supported by the Government of Yugra, to create an international engineering center for the assessment and verification of carbon units – "Carbon Data Center", whose activities will be associated with carbon flows monitoring and assessment, a pool of advanced technologies for the commercialization of the carbon footprint.

The creation of a carbon testing ground in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra on the basis of the Mukhrino laboratory and field station of the Yugra State University, to study typical natural ecosystems of the middle taiga of Western Siberia and their response to global climate changes, will be discussed separately.

On October 2, 2021, a presentation of high-tech equipment for measuring greenhouse gases will be held at the international field station "Mukhrino".
