Associate professor of Yugra State University, head of the university's Center for Northern peoples Tatiana Dyatlova took part in the seccion: "Polylingualism in cyberspace. National vector for creative industries". The session was a part of Creative Business Forum held on 3 September in Vladivostok.
The session was moderated by Alexey Tsykarev, Deputy Chairman of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, coordinator of the "Northern Crafts ID" project in the Association of Ethnocultural Centres and Heritage Organizations "ECHO".
The participants discussed projects on the preservation of indigenous languages in cyberspace, the development of cultural diversity by means of creative industries, the necessary support for industry science working on ethnic material, and much more.
In her speech, Tatiana Dyatlova noted that educational organizations are a tool helping to train specialists with creative way of thinking. They are able to motivate children to know their native language with the help of new ways of communication.
She also spoke about the Association of Finno-Ugric universities. It's main task is to implement joint educational programs directly or indirectly related to the language and culture of indigenous peoples.
"We are intended not only to work for educational and academic platforms, but also to support any student initiative within the framework of social and cultural projects," Tatiana Dyatlova stressed out.
In addition, the two largest Yugra events dedicated to indigenous peoples were mentioned – the "Miss Student of Finno-Ugria" international contest and the international contest seminar "Finno-Ugric vector in creative economy", which will be held as a part of the creative festival in the region.
