Yugra State University supports its students in Kazakhstan who are not able to return to Russia to continue their studies.

Air traffic in Kazakhstan was interrupted in the beginning of January because of riots in major cities. In addition, roadblocks have been set up, and the Internet and mobile communications are being cut off regularly.

The university administration decided to offer Kazakh students to continue their education on an individual curriculum until the normalization of the situation and their return to Khanty-Mansiysk.

According to the head of the International office Oksana Gololobova today 126 students from Kazakhstan study at YuSU and 72 of them are still in their native country. The university has prepared all indispensable documents and included the students in the base for crossing the border with the Russian Federation.

Vice-rector for education Tatiana Kostyleva noted  that the university shows understanding for the situation and is ready to provide financial help if necessary. Also, there is the possibility to defer payment for accommodation and tuition.

Now students continue to study doing tasks on the electronic education platform of the university under the guidance of their teachers.
