General information
The creation of the Chair of Russian language in November, 2004 is connected with the transformation of the university's structure. It was started together with the Institute of language, history and culture of the peoples of Yugra, so it has been the youngest chair so far. Despite the chair's young age, it is urgently needed by the university.
The chair's creative life
The chair organises a linguistic circle. The students invilved in studying different aspects of the Russian language are constant participants of the all-Russian, regional and city contests and conferences. The materials of thir presentations are published in collective works of scientific articles. The chair actively cooperates with the city's Education comittee and the Department of education and science of Khanty-Mansiysk autonomous okrug (area). Within tis cooperation the chair does the following:
- works out and evaluates the academic olympics,
- provides expertise fo the Unified state examination,
- reads and referees the works of the regional contest "Step into future" and the city contest of young researchers.
The lecturers of the chair conduct courses for the teachers of the region.
The consciousness of the present day level of literacy, lack of careful attitude towards the language makes the chair raise these issues on diffenent levels.
For the chair's lecturers it has become a tradition to participate in the Christmas readings and the Cyril and Methodius readings.
