Tuition
The academic year at YuSU starts in September and ends in June (01.09-30.06.). The tuition for the degree of Bachelor (BSc/BA) 4 academic years; Specialist ? 5 (5,5) academic years; Master (MSc/MA) ? 2 academic years; Doctor (PhD) ? 3 academic years. All the faculties provide the full-time tuition. Post-graduate studies can be either full-time, or part-time. All the courses are given in Russian. The applicants are enrolled according to the results of entrance examinations (interview, test). If you are interested in the curriculum of a particular course, please use the web-site of the University. Further information may be requested from the International office of YuSU. The international applicants are supposed to take a test in Russian language.
Letter of Invitation
To get the letter of invitation please send (by mail, fax or e-mail) to the international office the following documents:
- the application form;
- the photocopy of the first two pages of your passport.
On consideration of your documents you will be sent the letter of invitation. Please find out the details of getting the visa in the Russian Embassy in your country. It takes about 2,5 months to get the letter of invitation, that is why you are recommended to send all the documents not later than 3 months before the beginning of the term.
Concluding the agreement
To conclude the agreement to study at YuSU you should submit to the international office the following documents:
- Filled application form;
- Academic documentation, equivalent the academic documentation of Russian Federation, with the academic degree, the full list of learned subjects and full list of marks, with a notarized translation into Russian:
- For Bachelor studies (BSc/BA): school-leaving certificate;
- For Master studies (MSc/MA): Bachelors or Specialists degree-certificate;
- For Post-graduate studies (Candidates degree): Masters or Bachelors certificate
- Transcript (the document showing the list of the subjects with results) with a notarized translation into Russian;
- The certificate of nostrification (recognition and ascertainment of equivalence);
- Documentary proof to illustrate fluency in the Russian language;
- Medical certificate;
- Passport with visa and migration card;
- Six photos size 3х4 cm.
The translation of the academic documents into Russian must be certified by the Russian Embassy or Consulate in the country where they were issued or notarized in Russia. The AIDS and other medical tests for the medical certificate must be taken in the clinic of Khanty-Mansiysk. The International office of YuSU has the right to require additional information.
Documentation from foreign applicants for study at YuSU admitted:
- for Bachelor, Specialist and Master studies ? from 20 June;
- for Post-graduate studies ? during the year.

Russian Language Programmes
- are available at 6 levels (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment);
- the minimum period of study is 4 weeks;
- full-time tuition (26 academic hours per week ? 5 days a week) as well as part-time tuition (18 academic hours per week ? 3 days a week) are available during the academic year (September?July) and during the summer courses (June?August).
Pre-university Training
prepares students to enter university degree programmes (undergraduate or graduate) in Russian Federation:
- includes training in:
- General Russian;
- Russian for academic purposes;
- 5 days per week (24?26 hours/week) of classes and workshops;
- standard programme (9-month = 2 semesters) as well as prolonged programme (12-month = 3 semesters) available;
- academic year starts in September.
Excursions and Cultural Programmes
are offered within the frameworks of Russian Language Programmes and Pre-University Training.
Language Testing
- at 6 levels;
- all language skills ? listening, reading, writing and speaking;
for all those who intend to study or work in the Russian Federation (or where Russian is the language of communication).
Your expenses can be estimated as follows:
- Faculty tuition fee - see the price list.
- Cost of accommodation in a hall of residence.
- Cost of medical certificate and AIDS test.
- Health insurance or contract on medical service.
- Russian language test.
- Cost of examination of the academic documentation.
- Translation of academic documentation.
International students do not get a scholarship. Borrowing books from the library of the University is free of charge.
