All-Russian festival "Science 0+" at YuSU

YuSU once again opened its doors to the most inquisitive and inquiring minds. The All-Russian Science Festival "Nauka 0+" took place at the university. Experiments, games, master classes, quizzes, exhibitions and tours - all of these were waiting for the guests of the festival. It should be noted that YuSU has been a regional platform of the All-Russian Festival since 2013. As noted by Valery Lapshin, Vice-Rector for Research, this year students of YuSU scientific community "Sustainable Development of Northern Territories" took an active part in the organization.

Thus, members of the Smart Lean Group student club offered to play the author's business game developed on the basis of the global trend - lean technology tools, which help to understand how important it is to optimize any process in your life in order to have time to do more, and most importantly - better. Participants tried on the role of a lawyer at the master class held by the members of the SSS of the YuSU Higher School of Law. Everyone who visited the student design bureau "FS - UGRA" could try themselves as a racing car pilot. Here they also learned what skills design engineers should have.

"Our pilot Ekaterina Savekina this year defended a business plan for the design of a racing car in English," Vladimir Nazarov, associate professor of the Polytechnic School of YuSU, told the schoolchildren.

The festival participants also immersed themselves in the kingdom of minerals and made a trip to the microcosm. "The guests were explained how the microscope is designed, and they were also able to examine under the microscope the limb of a bee, the mouth apparatus of a mosquito and a drosophila fly", - told the moderator of the platform student Yana Egorova.

The festival guests were told all the secrets about oil, shown what oil sand looks like and what it smells like. How the work of the laboratory of geological methods of research, biotesting and radiological control is organized, where, in particular, the mineral is studied, was told by Ivan Yarkov, a laboratory technician and student of the Higher Oil School. "The guests were able to familiarize themselves closely with the hydrocarbon thanks to oil samples from the Shapshinskoye field, which were presented on the excursion."

The festival participants were also offered to draw pictures with oil, guess a smartphone by its description, find out how women have contributed to science. And also to check their awareness of sports anti-doping rules and with the help of express-methods to analyze the state of the atmosphere, water bodies and soil. The Scientific Library introduced the resources of the Presidential and National Electronic Libraries.

"I will leave this place with very good impressions. I loved the Microcosm venue and especially the racing car. It's an incredible feeling when you sit in a race car that has competed and will continue to compete. And the fact that it was put together by YuSU students is really cool. I am considering the university for enrollment, but the future will show", - Victor Elizarov, a 7th grade student of School No. 1, shared his impressions.

We would like to add that the participants of the festival were schoolchildren of Khanty-Mansiysk, students of the university and YuSU multidisciplinary college.
