Participants of the regional Youth Festival visited YuSU

Yugra State University was visited by participants of the regional festival «Deystvuy!”, which is part of the World Youth Festival. Yugra (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug) became one of the regional sites of this festival. Foreign students, young businessmen, scientists, doctors and other specialists have arrived in Khanty-Mansiysk. There were almost 50 participants from 33 countries. They get acquainted with the achievements in the industrial, cultural and social spheres of Yugra through the program "Live and work in Russia". Recently, the day was dedicated to science and students.

The festival participants were acknowledged with the educational and scientific potential of the university. The delegates of the festival appreciated the newly opened YuSU Multidisciplinary College with its new laboratories and facilities, Lean-laboratory whose participants implement technologies at leading enterprises in the region, as well as a robotics and automation laboratory.

The participants of the "Deystvuy!" festival also met with the Governor of Yugra - Natalia Komarova. Among the meeting participants was the Chairman of the Council of International Students of YuSU and the President of student community “Africans in Yugra”, student of the Polytechnic School, Nkumbu Silungwe. As the Governor noted, Nkumbu is planning to become the president of his country, Zambia.

Nkumbu said: “My family was delighted when they found out that I would be studying in Russia. I am very proud to study at the University, because I am developing not only in the engineering field, but also as a diplomat. So, last year I became a delegate to the Russia–Africa summit. I also want to say that there are people here who are always ready to help, who are sincerely interested in your affairs. Thanks to them, among other things, I can speak Russian. Being here, I feel like at home with my family”.
