Student activists and a YuSU representative were exclusive invitees to the roundtable "Making Independence and Development of Zambia Sustainable" held at the Russian House in Lusaka

The event was dedicated to the celebration of Zambia's Independence Day, which is celebrated annually on October 24.

Among the participants: Aleksandr Anisimov - Director of Russian House, Patricia Kalinga - President of the Zambia-Russia Alumni Association, Patson Mushanga - National Coordinator of the Zambia National Freedom Fighters Association, Nkonge Mwamba - Vice Chancellor of Sunningdale University, as well as representatives of other universities in Zambia. In total, there were over 50 participants.

Oksana Gololobova, Director of the International Office and students-citizens of Zambia and Egypt participated from the side of YuSU.

The discussion focused on Zambia's path to independence and sustainable economic development, the role of international cooperation in achieving sustainable development, the current development challenges of the country, the role of effective communication in sustainable development, the problems of neocolonialism and foreign influence.

Oksana Gololobova made a presentation on the role of Russian education in shaping the human potential of African countries.
