The presentation of academic exchange programs with Baku Higher Oil School was held at YuSU

Last Friday Yugra State University hosted a meeting with representatives of Baku Higher Oil School.

The academic exchange programs were presented at the meeting, the program that allows students to get a unique experience of studying abroad in one of the best universities of Azerbaijan, as well as to get practical skills of working in the largest oil and gas company of the country. The students learned about the requirements for participants of the program, study and living conditions, as well as about internship opportunities after completing the course .

"Yugra State University and Baku Higher Oil School have been cooperating since 2019. Over these 4 years, more than 10 YuSU students have studied at the partner university, among them three stayed for summer internship at the leading oil company SOCAR. Participation in academic exchange programs allows students to gain unique knowledge and skills, as well as to learn about other countries and cultures. There is an opportunity to compare educational systems of different countries, to fix the pros and cons. In addition, specifically at Baku Higher Oil School our students can also develop their communication skills in a foreign language, as the training is organized entirely in English. The experience gained abroad, especially in a foreign language, makes a graduate attractive not only for the national but also for the international labor market," said Oksana Gololobova, Director of the Center for International Cooperation of YuSU.

Programs in information security, chemical and petroleum engineering, process automation engineering, computer science and business administration are available for exchange. They are suitable for second to fourth year undergraduate students or first year full-time master's students.

The main selection criteria includes a motivation letter, grade point average and English language proficiency. The period of study is spring semester 2023-2024.

Study is free of charge, but other expenditures are at the expense of the student, it is important to have an international passport. During the period of academic mobility the study at YuSU is "frozen", an individual plan is issued, and a scholarship is preserved in case of successful completion of the session.
