YuSU Rector Roman Kuchin participated in the meeting of the Council of the Russian Union of Rectors

The Rector of Yugra State University participated in the extended session of the Council of the Russian Union of Rectors, which took place in the Intellectual Centre - Fundamental Library of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

The event was attended by Andrey Fursenko, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Sergey Kabyshev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, and Viktor Sadovnichiy, President of the Russian Union of Rectors, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The meeting addressed the key issues of the sphere, following the discussion of which a number of strategic decisions were made: expansion of the list of network and joint educational programmes for training specialists in a wide range of positions relevant for Russia's technological strengthening, practices of implementing IOT for students and postgraduates, improvement of mechanisms for finding and identifying talented young people.

"Russian President Vladimir Putin has identified the priority task of achieving technological sovereignty of the country. The key role in this process is undoubtedly played by universities, which are the basis for the development of innovations and advanced developments. As Valery Falkov, Head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, noted, it is important to update the Russian education system in a meaningful and thoughtful way. This implies revision of training programmes, introduction of modern teaching methods, as well as stimulation of scientific activity of young scientists. It is important not to forget about active interaction between universities and the real economy," commented Roman Kuchin.
