YuSU has joined Russian-African consortium of universities!

On 21 December, an online meeting was held with the founders and numerous participants of the Russian-African Network University ("RAfU") .

The coordinating university of the consortium is "Polytech" named after Peter the Great.

The main agenda of the event was to summarise the results of the work in 2023, discuss plans for 2024, agree changes to the structure and governance of the consortium, and welcome new members.

As part of the meeting, Yugra State University was officially accepted into the team of like-minded people for building multilateral cooperation with the African continent and is now a full-fledged member of RAfU!

"The establishment of RAfU is aimed at ensuring sustainable development of the countries of the African continent. To meet the needs of the African economies, it is necessary to train highly qualified personnel, expand the access of students to modern technologies within the framework of the implementation of educational programmes and scientific and technological projects. In addition, an important factor is the involvement of industrial companies operating on the African continent in the training of specialists and the necessary technical expertise. We are very glad to join the team of like-minded people interested in developing co-operation with Africa. YuSU is only at the very beginning of its journey. We already have 16 African students studying here. But we would like to expand our horizons: to establish co-operation with African universities and implement joint projects with them. On 21 December, within the framework of summing up the results of RAFU activities in 2023, four new Russian participants signed an agreement on joining the consortium: Tambov State Technical University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov. Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University, Yugra State University, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, and the Moscow State University of Economics. G.V.
