YuSU hosted the international round table "Actual problems of teaching Russian as a foreign language"

On December 6, within the framework of the international project "Russian Language Week" in foreign countries, Yugra State University together with the Department of Youth Policy, Civic Initiatives and External Relations of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra, with the participation of Russian houses abroad, organised an international event in a mixed format.

The main goal of the event was to unite experts and specialists in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language into a single cultural and educational international community and to share best practices.

The participants of the round table were representatives of Russian Houses abroad, researchers, scientific and pedagogical personnel, experts in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language, teachers of secondary schools, professors and students of Russian and foreign universities from 7 countries (Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Laos). In total - 60 people.

In the process of the round table, 15 reports were presented that addressed the most pressing issues of Russian language teaching and aroused genuine interest on the part of the discussion participants. They discussed traditional and innovative methods of teaching the Russian language, including taking into account national peculiarities, culture, traditions of the country of which the student is a citizen; the use of information and communication technologies in teaching; issues of creating textbooks, teaching guides, dictionaries and textbooks on the Russian language, as well as scientific and methodological and cultural and social publications on the Russian language and literature published abroad.

The sharing of experience, best practices and methodologies helped to define the vector of development of Russian as a foreign language in Russia and abroad and further strengthened co-operation between like-minded people from different parts of the world.

We remind that this event has already become an annual event and was held for the third time. At the end of the roundtable, a collegial decision was made to expand the format of the event to the status of "Conference" in 2024.
