YuSU initiated the creation of the Consortium "Innovations for the North and the Arctic"

During the VII International Youth Scientific and Practical Forum "Oil Capital", which was held in Khanty-Mansiysk, an agreement on the creation of the Consortium "Innovations for the North and the Arctic" was signed.

The document was signed by Roman Kuchin, Rector of Yugra State University, Natalia Frolova, Acting Rector of TU named after A.A. Leonov, Director of the Scientific and Analytical Centre for Rational Subsoil Use named after V.I. Shpilman. Andrey Kopytov, Director of the Scientific and Analytical Centre for Rational Subsoil Use named after V.I. Shpilman, Andrey Melnikov, Director of the Yugra Research Institute of Information Technologies, Maxim Medvedev, Director of UTEC-RS JSC, and Evgenia Golovatskaya, Director of IMKES SO Russian Academy of Sciences.

“The Innovations to the North and Arctic” Consortium was created to integrate efforts to implement innovative and scientific and technological projects, create knowledge-intensive products and technologies that can be used in the extreme natural and climatic conditions of the North and the Arctic, taking into account the challenges associated with global climate change.

"The establishment of the Consortium gives a start to the implementation of strategic projects of the Yugra State University development programme until 2030. Its members will become the main stakeholders that make requirements to the university's "products" - educational programmes, innovations and technologies. Yugra State University today is a classical university with a wide portfolio of educational programmes and research areas, among which ecology, energy and mathematics are the leading ones. Together with partners, relying on the teamwork of young innovators, we will be able to implement the personnel and technological demand of industries of promising economic specialisation of the Russian territories of the North and the Arctic", - shared Rector of YuSU Roman Kuchin.
