YuSU representatives at the Congress of Young Scientists

YuSU scientists and students took part in the III Congress of Young Scientists, which took place in the Sirius Park of Science and Art in Sochi. This event is the largest platform for dialogue between advanced and fundamental science, government authorities and the real sector of the economy and sets the main vectors of scientific and technological development of Russia. This year the Congress gathered 5,000 participants from more than 25 countries.

The scientific forum was attended by Danil Ilyasov and Alexander Kaverin, head and junior researcher of the Laboratory of Geoinformatics of Ecosystems, Yulia Kupriyanova, researcher of the Laboratory of Ecosystem-Atmosphere Connections of Forest-Swamp Complexes, Egor Safonov, associate professor of the Engineering School of Digital Technologies, Stanislav Dolinger and Alexander Paramzin, associate professor and lecturer of the Polytechnic School, as well as Alexei Kokorin and Ilya Maron, students - representatives of SSS YuSU "Sustainable Development of Northern Territories".

Achievements and developments of YuSU scientists were presented at the stand of the West Siberian Research Centre and the Carbon Polygons site. Climate, virtual and augmented reality, and energy security are the main agenda of YuSU at the Congress. Thus, the visitors were able to evaluate a new device for the protection of industrial networks.

The "Poisk M" device is able to detect a line with an ground fault using wavelet analysis, based on the data of outgoing line currents on 6-35 kV busbar sections modelled by the "Line 5" device. The development is intended for industrial networks, where consumers are oil producing companies", - said Alexander Paramzin. The participants of the Congress also attended lectures, where the issues of energy development, youth science and the place of a young scientist in production were touched upon: "We managed to communicate with representatives of the industrial sector and the future applicants reserve - schoolchildren, who presented the most unusual ideas".

The exhibition also presented the Mukhrino International Field Station - in miniature, virtual and augmented reality.
