YuSU scientists received a patent for the invention

Dmitry Korneev, Associate Professor of the Higher Oil School of YuSU, and Tatyana Smorodinova, Senior Lecturer of the Higher Oil School, together with colleagues from Tomsk and Nizhny Novgorod, received a patent for the invention "Inhibiting additive for paraffinic and highly paraffinic resinous oils".

This development is the result of joint activities of Yugra State University, the Institute of Petroleum Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and R.E. Alekseev Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University.

The object of the invention is to provide an inhibiting additive for preventing the formation of asphalt-resin-paraffin deposits (ARPD) of paraffinic, highly paraffinic oils with a high content of resinous asphaltene components (RAC) on the walls of oilfield equipment.

"The use of inhibiting additives reduces the amount of ARPD, which helps to increase the productivity of oil pipelines, guarantees the reduction of energy costs for oil pumping and reliability of oil pipeline start-up after long shutdowns", - note the developers of the invention.

The scientists emphasize that the characteristic feature of new developments in the field of inhibiting additives for oil is the composite nature of their composition (two or more components of the active substance) and multifunctionality of their action.
