YuSU student is the champion of the Russian MMA Cup

Fakhrudin Shikhkerimov, a student of the direction "Physical Education and Sports" became a participant of the championship of the Cup of Russia in MMA. The competition was held in Omsk from September 22 to 23 at the "G-Drive Arena".

Athletes from 8 regions of Russia, as well as Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Lugansk People's Republic fought in the tournament. The fights featured 10 weight categories among fighters over 18 years of age.

Following the results of the competition Fakhrudin won the 83.9 kg weight category and became the champion of the Cup of Russia.

"There were many participants, one stronger than another. This victory means another step forward. My goal, I think, like all fighters, is to be the best in this field," the young man noted.

It should be noted that Fakhrudin has been interested in sports since childhood. Until the age of 17, he practiced freestyle wrestling, after which he switched to MMA. He chose this direction because he considers MMA to be a diverse sport that includes other martial arts.

"Words cannot express what MMA means to me. I enjoy it, I like to compete and achieve certain results. I consider the most important criteria for good training to be discipline. One of the main components is spirit and character. An athlete must go out and do his job confidently, without fear or self-doubt," says the Yugra athlete.

Congratulations to Fakhrudin and his coach Rashid Sirazhudinov!
