YuSU students and staff took part in the launch of the international project "Russian Language Week" in foreign countries

The international project "Russian Language Week" in foreign countries has started. For the third year in a row the Week has been organised with the active participation of foreign students and professors of Yugra State University. Traditionally, the opening ceremony took place in the studio of the Okrug TV channel "Yugra" and was broadcast live in 17 countries.

This year among the speakers were: Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Tatyana Kostyleva, Associate Professor of the Higher School of Humanities Radwan Alrakhhal, as well as international students and students of the preparatory department for foreign citizens of YuSU. All of them noted the importance of the Russian language in their personal lives and in the global cultural and educational space, as it opens up prospects for cognition, communication, discovery, creativity, world understanding and cooperation with Russia.

During five days schoolchildren, students studying Russian as a second language and their teachers from Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, China, Laos, Moldova, the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, Serbia, Syria, Slovakia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Zambia will participate in games, quizzes, quests, master classes, dialogue platforms, listen to lectures and online-intensives from pedagogues and students of Yugra. They will talk about the history of the Russian language, discuss vivid phraseological phrases, share their favourite lines of Russian-speaking authors, learn about Yugra and universities located in the Okrug, get acquainted with modern Yugra poetry, argue about the personality of a teacher and much more.
