YuSU wins in the international "Original Project" nomination

Oksana Gololobova, Director of the Center for International Cooperation at Yugra State University, took part in the EEUA 2023 Award Ceremony.

According to the results of the competition, the project of YuSU international students "Africans in Yugra" became the winner in the nomination "Original Project".

The judges noted the cohesion of the student community "Africans in Yugra", their ability to build friendly relations among their society and with other students and teachers, as well as their desire to be ambassadors of their Alma mater.

"The originality of the project lies in the fact that Yugra State University is the only university in Yugra where Africans study. In our project application I told about the background, what was done and what we have now, what we are striving for in the future. In fact, it is a story of more than one year, so I decided to tell everyone how it started. It began in 2019, when an applicant from Zambia entered our university within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. It was an amazingly new and, most importantly, successful experience for YUSU. He adapted well, made friends with his groupmates, learned Russian. The other guys accepted him as a native. That's when the YuSU administration came up with the idea of inviting more guys from Africa. We began to cooperate with the Russian House in Lusaka, to organize joint events so that youth from Africa would learn about our university and would also want to study here. And so it happened!", - said Oksana Gololobova.
