Michael Collins, Chief executive officer of Salym Petroleum Development N.V. (SPD) presented a lecture to students of Yugra State University.

The phrase “Carbon challenges us”  became the main topic of discussion at the meeting of Michael Collins, Chief executive officer of Salym Petroleum Development N.V. with students of the Institute of Oil and Gas.

This is the second meeting of Yugra State University students with Michael Collins. This time, students learned about the method of carbon sequestration to increase gas recovery. Note that Mr. Collins worked for some time in Oil and Gas Industry in Australia, where this method is widely used, and supported theoretical calculations with living examples based on work experience.

Mr. Collins suggests that natural underground CO2 storage tanks can be found in Western Siberia. In addition, according to Chief executive officer of Salym Petroleum Development N.V., the 21st century will become critical in energy consumption, this is a transition period to clean energy.
