Yugra State University takes part in the World Championships of Vocational skills “Worldskills”

Tatiana Karminskaya, Rector of Yugra State University and  Olga Grinash, Deputy Vice Rector for Academic Affairs are at the 45th WorldSkills International Championship in Kazan. The competition lasts from August 22 to 27.

The championship "WorldSkills International" in Russia is taking place for the first time, but has already gathered under its roof more than 1300 competitors from 63 countries that will compete in 56 competencies, 25 FutureSkills competencies and 12 WS Juniors competencies. Participants will be evaluated by more than 1,500 international experts. The venue plans to host more than 250,000 people as guests.

WorldSkills International is a worldwide movement created to promote vocational occupations and to enhance the status and standards of training skilled trade professionals around the world with the participation of leading international organizations and leaders of change from 80 countries-politicians, researchers, business partners, heads of educational organizations, representatives of development institutions. Throughout the Championship there will be an active discussion of economic, social and technological trends, the development of training systems and the transformation of the labor market.

In 2017, 15 people (faculty and staff of Yugra State University) were trained on additional professional training program “Preparation and conduct of University Championship according to WorldSkills Russia standards” and in 2018, the University has successfully held the high school Championships WorldSkills standards on three competencies: "Laboratory chemical analysis", "Program decisions for business", "Physical culture and Sport".

In the nearest future, Yugra State University is going to continue to implement Worldskills standards in the educational process for higher and secondary vocational education programs.
