The Africa Day, dedicated to the celebration of the Unity Day, was held in YuSU.
African students from Zambia, Ghana and Egypt, 16 of them at the moment, demonstrated traditional outfits of their countries, told the history of their homeland and showed mysterious and fiery dances. The students who came to the celebration also took part in it.
And at the end of event everyone could taste national dishes.
Daria Pimenova, a 2nd year student of Linguistics, shared her emotions with us:
"Africa Day" - one of those events that would be worth to be visited by all without exception! It was encouraging to see a fully filled auditorium, smiles on the faces of students who appeared as spectators. The culture of Africa was revealed in a new way. Many thanks to the guys who prepared a presentation of their countries, thanks for the spectacular creative numbers, for the laughter, for the smile! Thanks for the opportunity to feel a part of Africa, tasting the national cuisine, dancing and chatting a lot. Now Africa Day should definitely become an annual event at YuSU.
