A meeting of the Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Yugra was held at YuSU

Council of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug - Yugra was held at Yugra State University. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Council of Rectors, Rector of YuSU Roman Kuchin.

The meeting began with an update of the members of the Council. In connection with the approval of the new composition of the Government of Yugra, Deputy Governor of the Autonomous Okrug Elena Mayer became a new member of the Council of Rectors of our region.

"For me, this is a great honor! I would like to note that I got acquainted with the work that the Council of Rectors of Yugra is doing and noticed that over the past year there has been a significant transformation of activities. The President of our country, Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly stated that it is important to achieve technological sovereignty of the country. And, of course, science and education today are the main stronghold of its achievement so that the economic position of the state is independent and very strong. I would like to note here that the policy of Ruslan Kuharuk as the new Governor of Yugra, and, accordingly, the Government of Yugra are guided by this agenda. In order to achieve the desired result, we need to work together. I believe that representatives of higher education institutions should develop exactly those solutions that will contribute to the achievement of the presented goal,” noted Elena Mayer.

An important issue on the implementation of patriotic education of the younger generation in the universities of Yugra was put on the agenda of the meeting. All rectors of higher education organizations in the region made reports. According to the speakers, in accordance with the programs for educational work, annual calendar plans, systematic and planned work is being carried out in the universities on the civic-patriotic direction and spiritual and moral education of youth. The universities implement the discipline "Fundamentals of Russian statehood", projects, within the framework of the federal program "Service learning", educational events aimed at preventing extremism, terrorism are held on a regular basis, students take part in rallies, in the #WEARETOGETHER actions.

Special attention was paid to the inclusion of students and university staff in the humanitarian missions of the Humanitarian Volunteer Corps of Yugra. All those present noted the high interest of the children in the process of weaving camouflage nets, collecting humanitarian cargo in the SVO zone, making candles, as well as traveling to the affected areas.

"It is necessary to conduct a diagnosis of the effectiveness of our work on patriotic education. Its meaning is that our students are aware of and understand Russian values and feel their responsibility for the future of our state. It is very important for teachers to be able to talk to students in a reasoned manner. They are the subjects of modern education of youth,” noted the President of the BUK KHMAO-Yugra “Surgut State Pedagogical University” Nadezhda Konoplina.

The Deputy Governor supported Nadezhda Vasilyevna, emphasizing that universities really face a very important and difficult task of patriotic education: “Its difficulty lies in the fact that the guys who come to our universities were once under the control of their parents and teachers. And they get to the university as free adults and independent. And here their minds begin to ferment, it seems to them that now they can afford whatever they want. They begin to be influenced by a huge number of information flows. And it is at this moment that they are most vulnerable. One of the most reliable ways of education is when the guys are really involved and feel their need and demand. Not in words and pictures, but they see real pain, life and the possibility of their participation for the good.”
