Yugra State University hosted a meeting of the university administration with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Russian Federation Rahman Sahib oglu Mustafayev and Acting Head of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Yekaterinburg Shohrat Rustam oglu Mustafayev.
Roman Kuchin, Rector of YUSU, presented to the guests of honor the scientific and educational potential of the university, told about the opportunities and breakthrough projects, as well as close cooperation with industrial partners.
During the meeting the Ambassador gave a positive assessment of the fruitful and successful activities of the university, and expressed interest and willingness to cooperate.
«We have a long-standing and productive cooperation with educational organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Since 2017 there is an agreement with the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry, and since 2019 - with the Baku School of Oil and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. The academic mobility program is implemented: 9 YUSU students have already completed their studies, and 1 student is currently at the Baku School of Oil. Our close cooperation is also confirmed by the annual participation of Azerbaijani educational organizations in the Scientific Congress named after F. Salmanov», - noted Roman Kuchin.
«There are very few regions in Russia that are historically linked to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Farman Salmanov is a figure that brings our countries very close to each other. The projects that are being developed at the university have great potential. The initiatives are very good, it is wonderful!» - said Rahman Mustafayev.
During the meeting the opportunities of Khanty-Mansiysk State Medical Academy were also presented. Vice Rector Alexandra Nekhorosheva told about the research capabilities of the educational organization.
The participants discussed possible cooperation between Yugra and Azerbaijan universities. The conversation focused on the implementation of joint initiatives, as well as exchange of experience. One of the ideas proposed by the ambassador was the appointment of a personal award for «graduates with honors». This project is currently at the stage of elaboration, but it can be a great motivation for students.
In the final part of the visit, the representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan were given a tour of the training laboratories of the Oil and Gas Engineering, as well as presented the Laboratory of Geoinformatics of Ecosystems.
