Deputy Secretary-General of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO visited YuSU

Stepan Yuryevich Kuzmenkov, Deputy Director of the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO, and his assistant, Valeria Pivnenko, paid a working visit to YuSU.

During the visit, the guests received a comprehensive presentation of the university's educational, scientific, and international activities. Particular attention was paid to the development of international cooperation, the implementation of joint research projects, scientific tourism, and interaction with international partners.

The program included an introduction to the activities of the scientific and educational center and the UNESCO Chair "Environmental Dynamics and Global Climate Change," research conducted at the Mukhrino International Field Station—a carbon testing site—as well as the work of the Laboratory for Ecosystem-Atmospheric Relationships in Forest-Marsh Complexes.

During the meeting, the university's prospects for participation in international initiatives and projects under the auspices of UNESCO, issues of expanding humanitarian and scientific cooperation, and opportunities to promote regional initiatives at international venues, including UN climate forums and thematic educational programs on sustainable development, were discussed.

The working visit was an important step in strengthening the university's international ties and confirmed YuSU's high scientific potential in climate research, ecology, and sustainable development.
