Fund named after A.V. Filipenko will be established at YuSU

The A.V. Filipenko Foundation will be established at Yugra State University. The decision was made in honor of the 75th anniversary of the first governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. Income from the Foundation will be used to provide scholarships to the best students, teachers, and scientists.

It should be noted that Alexander Filipenko was one of the founders of Yugra State University. He always emphasized that education and science were priority areas of the Yugra government's policy, and that the creation of a university in the region would help prevent the migration of talented young people. Thus, thanks to his support, YuSU was founded in 2001 as the region's flagship university, which became a center for training highly qualified specialists and developing the scientific potential of the autonomous district.

"The A.V. Filippenko Endowment Fund is our tribute to Alexander Vasilyevich's special achievements, including the creation of the Yugra State University. We intend to continue to maintain the high standards of the Yugra scientific and educational center, train highly qualified specialists, and create all the conditions for the comprehensive development of talented young people.

It should be noted that the YuSU Endowment Fund was established in 2023, and the first funds were transferred to the endowment fund account as part of the agreement with VTB Bank. Today, the fund's volume is 8.2 million rubles, and the fund itself ranks 18th among educational organizations subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education and Science in terms of fund development. The first income from the fund is planned to be reinvested.
