The International “Week of Russian Language” in Yugra

Yugra has become a center of attraction for Russian language lovers from all over the world! For the eighth time, the large-scale project "Week of the Russian Language in Foreign countries" is being held online and off-line, attracting participants from all over the world. This year main theme is "Yugra is 95. All flags come to visit us ". Every time, the project becomes more and more ambitious, expanding the geography and number of participants. This year there will be representatives of 16 countries, including Austria, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Slovakia, Syria and others. For five days, they will take part in interactive lectures by professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences, workshops using memes, quizzes, games, round tables, RFL (Russian as Foreign Language) classes and much more.

The international event was opened by a teleconference, which took place at the "Boiling Point" at Yugra State University. Among those who took part in the opening ceremony were: representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo, the diplomatic corps, Russian houses, CIS countries, executive authorities, educational and public organizations of Yugra, foreign partner universities, schools with teaching in Russian, organizations of compatriots and students of the preparatory department. The meeting included a virtual introduction to the region, as well as an introduction to the participating countries of the Russian Language Week.

YuSU traditionally participates in the on-campus opening ceremony, and also holds a number of events aimed at popularizing the Russian language, attracting foreign students and schoolchildren of Khanty-Mansiysk. This year, the university will host the game "All flags come to visit us", which will be attended by students of YuSU preparatory department, migrant children from Khanty-Mansiysk schools and international students. There will also be an immersive role-playing game with a consistent plot "In search of the Yugra guardian." On December 11, the university will host a round table on the issues of interaction between philologists of Yugra and foreign countries, where they will discuss and present researches conducted in the field of philology.
