YUSU employee attends the International Arctic Week

Evgeny Zarov, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory for the Study of Spatial and Temporal Variability of Carbon Balance in Forest and Swamp Ecosystems of the Middle Taiga of Western Siberia, took part in the International Arctic Week, which was held at the Kenozersky National Park (Arkhangelsk region). The North Arctic Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (NArFU) organized the event.

Representatives of 15 Russian universities of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and other regions of Russia, supervising the development of international scientific and educational cooperation in the Arctic discussed new directions and formats for the development of international cooperation in the Arctic in changing geopolitical conditions, exchanged experience and best practices.

A rich cultural and business program was prepared in three thematic sections for the participants: "Networked International Cooperation in the Arctic", "International Cooperation and Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions" and "International Scientific Cooperation in the Arctic: Russia's Ways of Integration". On the final day of the event, participants discussed the challenges, possible formats and projects for the development of international cooperation in the Arctic.

"Such meetings are extremely useful, as representatives of different universities, directly related to international activities, can share their experience and ideas in person, as well as outline further ways of development," - noted Evgeny Zarov.
