Last Friday, Yugra State University became the center of attention for 50 young compatriots living outside of Russia. All of them became winners of various competitions dedicated to the Russian language, national history and culture.
This visit took place within the framework of the federal project of Rossotrudnichestvo “Hello, Russia!”, aimed at educating a new generation of Russian compatriots abroad and preserving their linguistic and ethnocultural identity.
The foreign guests, aged 14 to 19, came from various parts of the world, including Australia, Belgium, Spain, Italy, the Republic of Cyprus, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Finland and Croatia. This year, they took part in the All-Russian Forum-Festival "Arctic. The Ice Has Moved" and the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Youth Arctic: Science for the Future".
The program of the visit was rich and varied. The participants had a fascinating tour of the sights of the capital of Yugra, where they were able to get acquainted with the cultural and natural wealth of the region, as well as with higher education institutions and industrial facilities. One of the key points of the program was the Yugra State University itself.
The university staff presented the guests with modern achievements in the oil industry and the capabilities of educational and research laboratories. They also demonstrated youth initiative projects that are actively implemented at the university, emphasizing the dynamic development of the educational environment.
The participants were particularly drawn to the Northern Peoples Center, where they were able to immerse themselves in the culture of the indigenous peoples — the Khanty and Mansi. This introduction to the traditions and lifestyle of local residents helped the young people better understand the uniqueness of the region and its rich cultural heritage.
The YuSU Sports Complex was not left without attention either.
Nicholas Metaxas, a representative of the Republic of Cyprus, shared his impressions: "The architecture of the building struck me at first sight. The classrooms are bright, spacious, and exude comfort. Frankly, it awakens the desire to study."
Tatyana Maskhilin from Belgium noted: "My first visit to YuSU left an indelible impression. The university amazed me with the prospects that were opening up for both future students and graduates. The abundance of laboratories and various centers speaks of the high level of education. I am sure that YuSU is an excellent launching pad for the development of the entire Yugra region."
This visit was not only an opportunity for young compatriots to get to know Russia better, but also an important step towards strengthening international ties. Yugra State University confirmed its status as an educational center that opens doors to new ideas and opportunities for young people from all over the world.
