YuSU at the China Education Expo

Representatives of Yugra State University, as part of a delegation of Russian universities, participated in the Russian Ministry of Education and Science's exhibit at the China Education Expo in Beijing. Twenty higher education institutions presented their educational programs and participated in a methodological seminar, presentations, an exhibition, and online broadcasts organized by Rossotrudnichestvo.

The China Education Expo in Beijing is the largest international education event in Southeast Asia. Aimed at expanding international cooperation in educational services, the event is held successively in five cities: Beijing, Wuhan, Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Shanghai.

In 2025, 400 educational organizations from 38 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, 300 of which were held in Beijing. 18 countries presented national pavilions.

In addition to YuSU, visitors learned about the educational programs of Vladivostok State University, MIREA (Russian University of Radio Electronics, Electronics and Automation), Skoltech, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Southern Federal University, MAI, MGIMO, NArFU, Razumovsky Moscow State University of Technical Sciences, and others. The Russian pavilion was one of the most visited at the exhibition, with over 80 participants.

Our university's delegation included Rector Roman Kuchin, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Tatyana Kostyleva, and Director of the Center for International Cooperation Oksana Gololobova. They held individual consultations and presented YuSU's educational programs and achievements to Chinese recruiting agencies, applicants, and parents.

Liu Limin, President of the China Association for International Educational Exchanges under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, also visited the Russian national pavilion and welcomed the participants.

Russian universities held a series of seminars, presentations, and bilateral and informal meetings dedicated to the prospects for cooperation between Russian and Chinese universities, visa and consular support issues, the specifics of admitting international students to Russia, the study and dissemination of the Russian language in China, and new educational standards. During the methodology seminar, representatives from the Russian Embassy in China, the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, and experts in the Chinese education market presented a comprehensive picture of educational cooperation and key indicators to Russian participants.

The growing interest of Chinese students in Russian higher education was clearly emphasized: the number of student visas issued doubled from 2021-2022 (17,000 visas) to 2023-2024 (33,000-34,000 visas). An additional 24% increase was recorded in the first half of 2025. Today, over 50,000 Chinese students are studying at Russian universities, and approximately 20,000 Russian students are studying at Chinese universities. The total number of educational exchange participants has exceeded 70,000, and the goal is to reach 100,000 by 2030.
